Intel is a pioneer in manufacturing of microprocessors for notebooks and netbooks, desktops, as-well-as servers (high capacity and high speed computers used by businesses). However, it has found AMD to be a formidable competitor.

Notebook microprocessors, used in notebook and netbook computers, is about 37% of Intel’s stock price, based on Trefis estimates. It is Intel’s largest business, and Intel has lost about 10% market share in notebook microprocessors to AMD, in the last few years.

In the server microprocessors business, which we estimate at about 25% of Intel’s stock price, Intel has faced a much larger loss: losing 20% market share to AMD in the last few years.

In Intel’s content on our platform, you can further explore how Intel’s Market Share in Server Processors and Notebook Processors, are likely to shape out and their impact on Intel’s stock price.
