AMD (NYSE:AMD) reported its Q1 2016 earnings on April 21st. The first quarter is a seasonally weak one and the downward pressure was intensified by continued weakness in PCs and reduction in semi-custom shipments. Nevertheless, AMD made considerable progress on its strategy to improve its business by  gaining share in the graphics and PC markets, growing its semi-custom business and expanding into the data center market. The company believes it executed well on its product and technology roadmap in Q1 2016, which paves the way for its future growth. As the new technologies start to ramp and new semi-custom deals start generating revenue, AMD expects its growth to re-accelerate in the second half of the year.
