Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) unveiled a new image unblur feature at the MAX 2011 conference this week, which could boost sales of its flagship Photoshop image editing software suite. [1] The remarkable new unblur feature could end the problem of blurred photos for many users. The new feature works using a set of advanced algorithms, which calculate the movements and the motion trajectory of the camera at the time the image was captured, allowing the user to fix the image, making it sharper. The new feature will likely be included in a future version of Adobe Photoshop, which is one of Adobe’s most profitable businesses.
Photoshop and other Creative software account for more than 50% of Adobe’s $35 Trefis price estimate, which stands more than 30% above its current market price. Adobe is the largest player in the image editing software market where it competes with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Quark and Corel.
