Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) has finally launched a tablet version of its flagship product – Photoshop Touch – for the iPad. It first announced Creative apps for tablets in November 2011, and launched Photoshop Touch for Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android. Last week, at the Mobile World Congress, it finally unveiled Photoshop Touch for Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad as well. Adobe is expected to follow up by launching other touch-enabled Creative apps like Collage, Debut, Ideas, Kuler, and Proto for the iPad soon.
Photoshop Touch and all other Creative apps for the iPad will be available for $9.99 each, just like their Android counterparts. Apple has timed the launch of Photoshop Touch just ahead of the impending iPad 3 launch. Photoshop Touch for the iPad has most of the basic functionality of the desktop version, but comes with a touch optimized, intuitive interface and some advanced features trimmed down.

It integrates with Adobe’s Creative Cloud, which lets users view, share and sync images across multiple devices seamlessly. Adobe aims to generate additional revenues not only through the direct sales of Creative apps, but also through increased Creative Cloud subscriptions. Though we expect Creative tablet apps to boost sales for Adobe, the relatively low price will weigh down its average pricing.
Photoshop and other Creative Software account for around 50% of Adobe’s $34 Trefis price estimate, which stands just above its current market price.Notes:
