GME Debt

While GME does not have any bonds or credit facilities outstanding, the company has significant operating leases, primarily related to its stores. Because these are noncancelable agreements, Trefis capitalizes them and includes the present value of the capitalized leases as debt, while making corresponding adjustments to depreciation and interest expense. This is why there are occasions where the Trefis debt figure will not match the figure reported in the company's balance sheet. If you have further questions don't hesitate to reach out.
