The author based his entire CU thesis on iPhone story. Few important aspects were ignored: 1) iPhone is an outsider in China. It is so popular in US, because it is almost free to subscribers, as carriers taking the cost. In China, because of no credit history, even for fully subsidized phone subscribers have to pay full deposit. That is why many choose cheaper phones; 2)CU is hugely unprofitable and burning cash, and iPhone's subsidies make it only worse
