You guys at Trefis are clueless re. technology. HP had no choice but to announce its absence at Win RT launch, because its chip partner, Qualcomm, could not get Microsoft certification (its GPU failed to meet MS's requirement of Direct X 10). HP's decision was made before Microsoft announcement of Surface.
