HANA is NOT a key innovation - it is marketing hype. In memory DBs already exist, as do columnar databases. HANA is for OLAP (datawarehouses) only. All the marketing hype fails to mention that it is NOT currently for OLTP, and will never replace DB2, SQLServer, Informix, MySQL or Oracle. Several alternatives exist for OLAP and Big Data.
