I do not understand why Trefis postulates a decline in the market in 2015.
If anyone can predict what will happen in 2015- where were they this year?<br>I have now heard the cyclical nature can be predicted by; seasonal, every two year cycle and many other theories, all which did not help anyone this year.
<b>Decline is due to the cyclical nature of semiconductor capex</b><br><br>Hi Will,<br><br>As you would be aware, the semiconductor industry is cyclical in nature and hence, the capex incurred by major manufacturers is also cyclical. Thus, there would be periods of growth and periods of slowdown (e.g. 2008 and 2009). Hence, there is a dip in 2015, as it is expected that there would be a slowdown in the semiconductor capex by major semiconductor manufacturers.<br><br>We have taken the equipment spending data from <a href='http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=1810914'>Gartner</a>(30th Sep, 2011).
