  • While it is true that the mass market is growing rapidly and while it is also true Wynn "may have" derived some benefit, investors need to be reminded that Wynn is in "old Macau," and they and MGM have the smallest casinos of the 6 operators. Most of the benefit in the increase in mass market will go to LVS and Melco who have the biggest casinos and the best locations on the very hot Cotai Strip. When evaluating LVS' performance note that while they performed extremely well in Macau, well in the US, they were down yoy 8% in Singapore which in the past had provided LVS with 20% of its revenue. Melco is a pure Macau play. They will report in the next day or two. Their 2013 numbers will be very good. Investors should also discount the just recent Jan. 2014 Macau gaming revenues which were up 7% yoy. This year the New Year's holiday is Jan 31 to Feb 10 and it's likely many delayed a possible January trip to come over New Years (early indications show increased visitor volume. [ less... ]
