  • I retired as Medical Director for Lockheed Missiles and Space in Sunnyvale in 1989. For the last 10 years of my retirement I have studied anthropology. I went back to tribal time and found nine common pillar-needs that have lasted unchanged for 200,000 years. Defense is part of the sixth pillar need, the one for community support. If Congress irrationally or emotionally questions our need for defense it also opens our individual pillar need for national security. I thank you for great work.
