Verizon, AT&T

The FCC has recently released its 15th annual report on the state of wireless competition. According to the report, it seems like minutes of usage have been declining among companies like AT&T & Verizon due to rise in data usage. This is no surprise and points to a shift in consumer behavior. [2]

Sprint

Despite global support of LTE and Sprint’s own possibility of moving on to the technology, it is still promoting WiMax. Recently, Sprint has been targeting enterprises to encourage use of WiMax in place of their T1 lines. [3]

Dish Network

According to latest reports, it seems that Dish Network is inching closer to another acquisition. Its proposed acquisition of TerreStar might go smoothly without much competition. [4]

Viacom

Viacom’s kid-focused channel Nickelodeon has stayed on top amongst cable networks in Q2 of 2011 according to a recent company press release. [5]

News Corp

News Corp has finally sold struggling Myspace to Specific Media. The company was considering multiple options to revive Myspace but as it turns out, selling it was the best option as far as News Corp is concerned. [6]
