Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is known for its main search advertising business.  The company also makes money through the search and content ad partnerships of its AdSense business.

Google provides the advertising displayed on partner sites and pockets a percentage of ad revenue generated.

Google generates about $35 for every 1,000 searches on Google.com.  Although Google’s search partners earn a comparable revenue per search, Google keeps only about 16% of partner sites ad revenue.
